Tryouts are in 10 weeks for a dance/cheer team for a local basketbal team. What can i do to prepare for tryouts as far as getting in shape, maybe toning up and dropping a few pounds?

It depends what you are really trying out for. If its something like pointe or a hip-hop team then i would stretch and just stay in shape. Try running and eating right. Don't overdo it or you might end up injured and miss it. Avoid doing dangerous stuff about 5 to 6 weeks before the tryout. and most importantly stay calm and practice!

get private lessons! the best thing you can do is get private lessons in dance, and tumbling. You have to eat healthy though, not junk food if you really want to be strong enough to make the auditions. Try out local gyms, and local studios to see if they have privates available for you.You also need to work on your acting, so the ask the dance teacher to help you in stage acting. GOOD LUCK XD!!!!!!

Do Pilates once a day for an hour at least. Your core will be stronger for turning and you will be amazed how fast you will lose weight.
