good point but i reckon its referring to one of those awesome birthday cakes you got when you were little that are all pretty with icing flowers or in the shape of spongebob squarepants or something!

Good point. I supposed people like to get things just for the getting and not to really make use of them. Personally, IF I am gettting cake I am darned well gonna EAT it, too!

It should be more like this "You can't have cake...and pie too. You must choose, one or the other." Now see, that would make more sense!

It means you can't have two things at once and get away with it. A good example is a wife and girlfriend sooner or later you'll get caught. You get the idea.
