I know that they hiss at you but do they actually bite? Would it be a bad bite their teeth aren't very big. Anyone been bitten?

Do Chameleons Bite

I've been bitten by an aligator lizzard (i live in california, aligator lizzards aren't that big) and I must say, it hurt a little bit. It was a hard pinch, but no blood was drawn. I'd imagine the chameleon's bite would be about the same... More shocking than painful!! The gloves should be safe to wear, unless he eats it or something. Even then, what's a little latex rubber? I wouldn't know about that.

first if it has a mouth it can and might bite. My boston might bite me one day, I dought he will but he may.

That being said I dont think you have anything to worry about. The longer hes around you the more he will get used to you.
If he does bite it will probly be more like a slight pressure then anything, nothing to worry about.

Now if you want to get a painfull bite check out some chimps, I have been bitten by 2 of them (and a few other primates).

Chameleons only bite if they are stressed, scared, or mothers. Or obviously, if you stick your finger in their face (a friend found that out the hard way).
They are generally docile. If yours is hissing at you, take him to the vet and get him checked out. He may also just be a bad-tempered critter.

Yep. The little ones do just give you a bit of a fright. Watch out for adult Yemen males though. They can pack a fair punch with those little jaws. They are seriously lovely though.

I agree with the dysgraphic others; I'm sure it won't hurt. Gah, but you can't understand what they're telling you; they can't spell for ****.
