I really don't think so. Beyonce has done a lot in the past three or four years to be proud of. But the fact that she over marketed herself and this movie and got absolutely no recognition for her acting skills has totally shocked her. Being a pop goddess and winning nine Grammy’s does not make you an instant movie star. It takes skill. She really thought that her popularity and of course she is Beyonce, that she would automatically get all these best actress awards for this movie role. Wow was this a wake up call for her and her father. Maybe now she will regroup and humble herself and count her blessings. She still is a great artist and musician. But that is just my 2 cents. :o)

No she wasn't snubbed. I love Beyonce but really, the Deena Jones role was no stretch for her. It was basically Beyonce playing Beyonce. She needs to find a role that is COMPLETELY different from her public persona. No more roles that require her to sing or dance. And preferably no comedy. She needs to find a good drama. I think the acting talent is in there somewhere but she needs to just challenge herself.

I think "Dreamgirls" was conceived as an "ensemble" vehicle, not to say Beyonce was not good, everyone in it was, but I think she should have known going in that she would not be the star. The whole point of the movie was to show how the entertainment industry packages celebrities to appeal to the audience, and because her character was the" best looking" and marketable, she became the star of the group, not the most talented member of the group. She states that she was aware going in that the movie was not going to be all about her, but in hindsight, I wonder if she thought because she had more acting experience than Jennifer Hudson that she would automatically be the cast member most highlighted. If that is the case, boy did she get a shock.

Honestly, Beyonce wasn't snubbed because her acting was not memorable or special in Dreamgirls. She didn't deserve a Golden Globe or Oscar nomination for that role. She is a great singer and performer on stage, but acting isn't her thing. Beyonce doesn't have the actor/actress presence. I know celebs want to be a triple threat in Hollywood but everyone can't do it.

I agree wholeheartedly. i think they over-publicized her for the movie too. When I saw the movie, it was definitely Jennifer Hudson that was the stand out!! She did a great job. Beyonce wasn't bad in the movie, but i think she's better off in music.

I totally agree. Look at Mariah Carey; she can sing her a** off, but when she tried to act it was dreadful. Beyonce should be thankful that no movie she's been in ever bombed that bad, lol.

I don't think she was snubbed exactly, I just think that Jennifer Hudson was so totally terrific she just out shown her. Beyonce should be extremely proud of her singing and her performance. If SHE feels snubbed she needs to move on!

Should i have said out shined?

BEYONCE IS NOT REALLY A GOOD ACTRESS TO BEGIN WITH. SHE IS RUNNIG OUT OF MONEY AND SHE NEED TO DO SOMETHING BESIDES SINGING HER TIRED-OUT SONGS. JENNIFER HUDSON IS A REAL STAR IN THE MOVIE DREAMGIRLS. SHE WAS ACTUALL SUPPOSED TO PLAY THE ROLE OF WHO BEYONCE WAS PLAYING BUT BEYONCE COULDN'T PLAY THE PART THAT SHE WAS ASSIGNED TO SO THEY HAD TO SWITCH ROLES.

No she wasn't. Her performance didn't deserve a Golden Globe nomination let alone a Oscar nomination.
