well, after learning the hard way by having my house destroyed in Hurricane Charley, and being without power for 16 days in 100+ temps, I now have a generator, fans, and plenty of food supply. Live and learn I could easily survive a month now, feeding me and my young daughter

I could survive for a month.
Just kill everyone who walked by and eat them.
Besides, I have plenty of food growing in my yard, plus I have water.

but at my grandparents house (god bless their souls now...) we could have lived for years off what they had...
oh god! the depression generation! they canned everything, saved the weirdest things and stored water.. all kinds of dried goods...
there was no end.
