Yahoo games are suitable for that age. I have a friend with an 8-year old who also loves puzzle pirates (yohoho.com). There's the Disney website, Cartoon Network, and popcap games. (popcap.com, I believe, invented most of the ones on Yahoo. more games at their site, though) Puzzle Pirates is a download, but you can play for free and it's loads of fun.

try going on miniclip games or coffeebreak,they seem good one's for my son,who when he goes on the pc thats what he likes playing,there is also some games that interact wiv other real players
