my period is a week late and ive had a lot of discharge this week, and my discharge looked completely normal, but today I had this extremely light brown discharge...could that be my period coming? or is that discharge and should i be worried? and if it is my period, can i use tampons with it, or is it too light for that? help pleaseee.

It could be a sign of infection, or it could be the start of your period (although I generally find the first blood to be bright red and the brown stuff to come towards the end of the period)
Wait a few more days and see what happens, either your period will start as normal or you will still have this discharge. In the meantime, I wouldn't wear a tampon, just a panty liner or very slim pad. If you don't get your period within the next few days and still have this discharge then I would suggest visiting your Dr to get some swabs taken to rule out infection.
The important thing is just to keep an eye on things and don't panic.

period troubles, you need to first rule out pregnancy. take a home test from the local drug store. If not pregnant, just wear a panty liner or mini pad for the light bleeding. what you are describing is too light for a tampon. good luck.

sometimes a dark discharge is the beginning of your period. the dark blood is usually dark because it is old blood being shed
