Well 4'3 is a lot shorter than average, so it is not normal. But puberty is yet to kick in and I am sure she will grow a lot during that period. If her parents are small then that offers a good indication of how tall she will be in the future.

She sounds a little small, but I also have a friend who's daughter is 10 and she isn't even 4'3" I think she just broke 4' and she only weighs 60 lbs. I have the opposite problem with my daughter, she is 10 and she is 5'2" and she weighs 114 lbs, she towers over all of the other fifth graders she is in class with by at least a foot or more. And also she is as tall as I am and I am 40.

This is a doctor question. Is there anyone short in the family that she could be taking after. This is something to do with genes and she just may be a short person all her life. Take her to the doctor and have them check her on the growth charts and see what percentile she is in. Good luck.

i have an11yr old son and he is probably close to 5'. From what i can tell at school that is average. Your daughter does sound short for her age. I would check with a doctor to make sure nothing is wrong, but there are alot of short people in the world. i know it may be hard for her, but check with the doctor first.

well teenagers are getting smaller and smaller these days. i'm in 8th grade and i'm taller than a graduated senior [[from highschool]] [[i'm 5'4'']]. last year in 6th grade a girl was 12 and 4'4'' and she was completely normal. i know alot of people that are really short and don't weigh much. look at today's teens. they're either short or really tall. i think it's normal [[nowadays]]. but if you're concerned, you should see a doctor.

It looks like she is at a normal weight, but on the lower end of height, but still normal. You'll wake up one day and she'll have hit a growth spurt. If your worried, talk to her doctor.
