Whether or not the doily is stiffened, you can use tissue paper, a couple of layers thick, or more, lay the doily on the paper and roll it up. Secure it with tape, slip it into a paper towel tube or a tube core from gift wrapping paper, depending on the doily's size, for extra protection, and mail it in the tube mailer. You can also wrap it around the paper towel tube, then wrap tissue paper and plastic wrap around it, tape it, and ship it in a tube mailer. If you want to use this tube method and a paper towel tube isn't large enough, try the core tube from gift wrapping paper. If you have to, cut it to the correct size for your doily. If the doily is even larger, use as many tubes as you need and tape them together. I think you get the idea. Use tissue paper, tape, tube cores and a tube mailer. Good luck with it!

Use a regular manila envelope. Place the doily in a plastic sack, then place cardboard on both sides of the doily after putting it in the envelope. This will definitely protect it from being folded or otherwise getting messed up.

If it's not starched, it wouldn't matter if you folded it. Otherwise, the dollar store and walmart both sell padded envelopes much cheaper than the post office.

There are large legal sized padded envelopes that you can purchase at the post office that might work.

I would roll it around a tube (paper towel one maybe) and insert it into a larger mailing tube. By rolling it you prevent any creases and it would not shift during shipping.
