I personally started watching American Idol because of him being so honest that makes the show so funny. Until that stupid kiss-butt, wacko, unstable Paula came along, Simon has been funnier. Now I don't know if I still want to watch the show as much because of Paula. Anyone feel the same?

As much as the audience might "boo" Simon I think 90% of his criticizms are correct. I know after I watch a performance I usually do agree with Simon. He might seem mean but he is just being honest!

As for Paula if she tells one more person that they look great so she doesn't feel bad for telling they sucked I will puke!

oh and has anyone noticed that Randy has been using Simons lines lately? LIke "that could be heard at any bar in america". That is something Simon would have said (or has said) many times in past seasons.

I love watching Simon make people cry. You can't listen to Paula, she just doesn't want to be the mean person and hurt anyone's feelings. But Simon is what makes that show. Some people just need to hear the blunt honesty.

I love Simon. I don't always agree with his opinions but 98% of the time I do. I get a kick out of the contestants complaining about him being "mean". If they think Simon is mean they are in for a rough time when they really try to get into the music business. Simon is a sweetheart compared to what they are going to face from other execs. They are going to rip them to shreds without an ounce of remorse. And they won't try to sugarcoat it like Paula does. That's the reality of the entertainment business.

I think Simon is great. I don't always agree with his mean way of speaking to people, but I do agree with the sentiment. I think there would be a more kind and constructive way to say the things he says.

I like that he says clothes are ugly, cuz usually it's when someone is wearing a new fashion, which I usually agree are ugly. People just wear stuff because some magazine told them it was "in" this season. Most fads are silly looking, and Simon is willing to say so.

My brother does. I watch it partly just for the auditions and to see my favs go through, and partly cuz of simon. watch what ur saying about paula tho. she has some problems, but she's definitely the nicest judge. and ur name makes u sound like a dixie chick. not the best thing if ur a guy.

I LOVE Simon. Paula is wishy-washy and Randy thinks he's cool-NOT. Simon tells it like it is. When the contestants sing horribly they have to blame it on someone. Simon can take it.

Simon is definitely sarcastic and a little rough with his criticism. But he is a producer and as such has come to learn to make his comments straight forward. If you listen to him overtime you will see he is spot on. He knows his business and I am always anxious to see what he will say next.
