My daughter did something similar to this.
Purchase several types and styles of detergent, from the expensive to the cheap.
Make a hypothesis regarding which one should clean the best, ie typically you would think that the most expensive would work the best.
Make close to identical stains on several pieces of cloth.
Wash each of the cloth using different detergents.
Measure, by observation, which one was cleaned the best.
Support or reject your hypothesis based on your findings.

Make your own detergents mixing different quantities of ash and fat together. From 10% ash and 90% fat to 25 /75, 50/50, 75/25, 10/90 mixes. See which mix is best for removing oil! Then try to explain why.

Create a similar oil stain with a similar quantity of oil for each try I.e a thimble finished for each. in case you'll try a veriety of distinct detergents try to be set to bypass. i might want to apply elementary water to set as a common, something acidic, at the same time with lemon juice, and something ordinary at the same time with washing up liquid. although the way you'd be able to justify the outcomes with out understanding the pH will be somewhat more durable. an additional reachable decision might want to be to attempt how the various concentration of one certain detergent impacts how a lot oil is bumped off out of your samples. To make your ideas, use water as a common, and accepted increacements of detergent diluted to a series quantity I.e. 10 ml water/ 0ml detergent; 2ml detergent/8ml water; 4ml detergent/ 6ml water; .........10ml detergent/ 0ml water once you've adequate time you would possibly want to run both experiments to illustrate how pH and concentration outcome on the means of a detergent to eliminate oil from a pattern.
