You should feed them enough to fill their stomachs once a day. To judge that amount, look at their eyeballs. A fish's stomach is about the size of their eyeball.
When feeding your fish, remember there is little danger in under feeding them. They will survive just dandy if they are under fed. The danger in feeding is over feeeding. Over feeding kills. Under feeding makes happy fish.

Most people say feeding once a day is enough and really it is, but I prefer to feed twice a day with smaller feedings and a more balanced diet that way. In the mornings I feed flake, pellet or other dry foods that are quick and easy to handle (busy mornings) and in the evening feed a frozen, live or freeze dried food to give a better variety in the fishes diet. In my opinion that's good for most any fish.

I usually feed mine twice a day and no more than what can be eaten in about 40-50 seconds. I also feed the flakes in the morning and then frozen brine shrimp at night. They will grow a lot faster and healthier with the extra protein.

Feed them twice a day. The food should be over within 5 minutes of you putting it in the tank. If anything stays behind, cut down the quantity in the next feeding session.
