It is barbaric, I know. The animals are under constant fear and stress, causing the meat to become carcinogenic. When a human goes through enough stress we become very susceptible to negative consequences due to certain chemicals released in our systems.
Animals are kept in such a heavy state of trauma that they release also similar chemicals. Those who eat meat are introducing very negative elements into their bodies.
It's all wrong in all ways. We need to treat all life with the utmost of respect and compassion. Read about Dr. Albert Schweitzer and his philosophy toward having reverence for all life.

i am aware. I am aware of spin on both sides of the issue. I am aware that the meat industy lies, and I am aware that orginizations like PETA lie. I am aware of the history both social and biological of humans eating meat. I am aware that I can get all the essential amino acids found in meat from a combination of rice and beans. I am aware that most products or thier components are made up of ingredients tested on animals. Are YOU aware that every single medicine you have ever taken was, are you prepared to live by your convictions and say "No Doctor, I don't think I'll take that pill to fight my lukemia, because it was tested on animals." That's an extreme example, but it's impossible to live in a modernized society without using products and services whose foundation and core rest on the exploitation of animals. People exploit each other, and we do an even better job of exploiting animals. Let me quote the old adage "You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs"

I do aware for that. But humans really need proteins. We are basically omnivore animals. We are like lions, tigers or other most dangerous predators out there. We stay at the top of the food chain. Same like lions or tigers. Nobody eat lions or tigers, so no one eats humans cuz we stay at the highest level in the food chain.
I think it's already a part of a food chain since the very first time. Can you imagine Africa without any predators at all? There would be an explosion of the amount of herbivore animals there. And since there is no carnivore at all, the herbivore eats all the plants exist there and at the end Africa will look like a Mars planet, without plants at all. And the rest you know what will happen, the world without any plants and the gigantic amounts of herbivore everywhere.
Same in human world. As omnivore, we need and must eat meats. Or else... human worlds will be like a desert, no plants or green areas due to the , immeasurable and immense amount of herbivore animals everywhere. So, the nature already put everything in a perfect order, who's eating who without any miss-calculations at all. We have to let the food chain moves and rotates as it should be.

are you aware how much meat has meant to mankind over the past 20,000 years ? When I was little I watched my Grand Pa Slaughter a pig...he walked up to it with a 22 rifle, held it right between his eyes and pulled the trigger, the pig died instantly then he blooded it and later butchered it. The family ate on that pig for a quite a while, but not everyone can have a farm in today's society so we depend on the Beef industry or pork or chicken to raise the animals and slaughter them and get them to market the cheapest most efficient way they can, so we don't have to spend an inordinate amount of our hard earned money on food/meat.

I really don't care - their whole purpose in life is to be eaten. It's not like they are providing the world with great wisdom or deeds.
I'm sure it's horrible to see the conditions they live in but I've been eating meat for 30 years now and I'm healthy. I have no intention of becoming a vegetarian. If others want to not eat the poor little animals and help them escape from slaughter, go right ahead. But I have better things to do with my life.
And I need protein to do it!
Go ahead and give me thumbs down - I don't care!!!

You'll have to lose all your leather shoes and belts and nice cushy car seats and sofas and some of your beauty products and all sorts of things if you really want to go there.
And we better not even mention your medicines and other pharmaceuticals that are possible only through research, testing, and development using animals. I'm just saying it might not be pretty but that's how it is. If you are at the top of the food chain you exploit all the others. If you don't do that you don't remain at the top.

Its not cruel. There are laws and practices in place to keep it as un-cruel to animals as possible.
Frankly, it doesnt matter to me. I'm not a cruel person, but I'm gonna eat. I dont eat veal because of how the animals are treated. Its not in protest to the veal industry, because I do like veal, its just my choice.
So no, I am not ignorant of how animals are treated. Perhaps you are? peta.org is a website full of lies and video from third-world countries. There are meat processing plants that would happily give you a tour.

Totally aware. I'm a member of PETA. That's why I don't eat them. All I have to say is what goes around, comes around. Check out some of the videos on PETAs website. You'll be horrified. If you aren't then there's something wrong with you as a person who should have feelings.

I'm aware. Are you? Or are you one of those people that just now found out and it's only going to be a one day thing of not eating meat? Stop pointing fingers and calling people ignorant. It's not your place and people are going to do what they want to do. You should know by now that you can't stop that.

I am completely aware, which is why I am a vegetarian. I don't believe that it is up to us to decide who and what should live or die. Sometimes I am ashamed to be considered a part of the human race because of all the cruelty, hatred, ignorance, and destructive behavior of our species. I think one day our world is just going to spin out of control and destroy itself. It makes me sad. But at least I'm doing my part to help fix the problem.
