OK, so my friend is in brazil and the "high speed" internet she has their is 200 KBPS. (the current max in brasil for residents is 10 mbps). I was wondering if I can install a router to her modem and have wireless internet in the house. Will any router work? I know they sell up to 54mbps is that going to work on a 200kbps modem? If I intall it myself will i have to pay the company money ?
thanks!

To the guy with 100Mbps, you don't have 100Mbps. That's the speed of your ethernet not the speed of your internet. Yes, any router will work. Except broken ones for obvious reasons.

well i don't think any router would work, since you have a slow connection and i have a 100mbps, and the connection for my wireless internet is quite good, trying calling your internet provider to be certain, and ask if they would charge you money, my own didn't since i was able to install it myself, now if they come and install it for you, im sure they would have charged you for it
