Christiaan Huygens was probably the first scientist to advance a wave theory for light. He's definitely not the inventor though.

I agree with the above...noone invented Visible Light Waves but someone did discover them!

Yes, electromagnetic radiation is the scientific term for light of all wavelengths, including visible light, radio waves, microwaves, infrared light, UV rays, X-rays, and Gamma rays.
