First go to your programs, click on accesories and go under system tools. Perform both disk cleanup and disk defragmentor, this should free up some space on your computer and make it quicker, especially if you've never used them before. Next, go your control panel and click on add/delete program, sort by frequency of use and just go through each program and see if you really ever use it...You may have quite a few promotional programs that were installed when the computer was purchased..For example, a version of AOL, if you never use AOL this is obviously safe to delete. If you are not sure about a program then be safe and keep it on your computer. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

and you should uninstall anything that you no longer use. You'd be surprised how much stuff gets installed and never uninstalled. The stuff is then loaded when the computer is booted. It may not make it way faster but it should cut down on memory swapping and thus improving thruput.

well you could delete your music files, old documents you don't need anymore, programs which you don't use anymore like a photo editing program, such as photo shop or any others you just have sitting on your computer, and try deleting old games, if you don't play them anymore, and you could live without them, i hope you don't have any movies on there either lol...and you could clear your internet history, and old shortcuts on your desktop
