i agree that animals shouldnt be treated with cruelty but i do believe in testing on animals for medicine if it is beneficial and not being done for the sake of it. as i would be a hypocrite if i said otherwise as i would use a drug if it helped me and it had been tested on an animal i also eat meat and wear leather shoes but dont agree with fox hunting wearing fur and using animals for testing anything else.

Of course animals have rights we are all animals and although we are the superior species (sometimes I wonder) we have a responsibility to ensure that all animals are treated with respect. I dont believe in animal experimentation for the benefit of humans. Knowing what they did to dog, rabbits. etc for the sake of humanity is sickening. And the way some so called humans treat animals is appaling.

What do I think about insect rights? What do I think about trees and plants rights? We are all part of this earth and we are all supposed to play our part in this great plan. Humans have walked all over the rights of everything that can't talk back. Humans have killed plenty who tried to talk back. If we were living in harmony, this question would not come up. Just think, if all the plants decided not to take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, we would all be dead in a matter of minutes. We have ruined the plan for this world by overpopulation and greed. Animals, plants, insects, etc. are still trying to their part...only humans are violating the rights of everything else on this earth.

If you are talking about the actual welfare of animals, then yes, they should have them. There is no reason to be cruel to animals. Personally, I do not have a problem with slaughter, (couldn't do it myself, or let it happen to any of my animals), but I do have a problem with the WAY slaughter occurs. There should definately be more laws regulating it.

As far as Animal Rights (PETA), the organization, I DO have a problem with them. I have a LOT of problems with them, including the fact that they are domestic terrorists. Another issue I have is that if the animal is not cute or fuzzy they don't care. If you watch Fear Factor, people on there eat live bugs and spiders all the time. PETA has never said anything about that to my knowledge, but one time they did something with mice, I think the mice were already dead, and Animal Rights had a tizzy fit. The fact is, bugs are animals too, and it is hypocritical to want to protect one animal and not another.

Anybody that thinks it's ok to be cruel to animals is mistaken. What is even worse are people that equate humans with animals. they say that just because animals can't speak that doesn't mean that they don't have feelings. I've rarely heard anything so dumb because that means that animals should be subject to the same laws as humans. They shouldn't be able to hunt & kill or rob another animal of its food. Also, Humans who speak different languages and are from totally different cultures find ways to communicate with each other. I've never heard of communication between humans and animals.

Should we be cruel and cause animals unnecessary pain? NO But should animals be equated with human beings and partake in equal rights? hell no!

Anyways, it just pises me off wen I see people that battle for animal rights but hurt their fellow human beings. it's just sick

The term "animal rights" is an oxymoron. Animals HAVE no rights because in order to have rights you must have (a) a claim and (b) a duty. Animals have neither. Their behavior is not bound by our laws and they can't truly communicate with us, so it's impossible for them to exercise a claim. For those people who believe animals have rights I have one question: Do you have pets? If you do, how do you know that you're not violating the rights of your pets? If you believe animals have rights then one of those rights must be the right to roam free without borders or boundaries, so imprisoning a pet in a cage or your house or in a fenced-in yard is unlawful and cruel -- what crime did your pets commit to earn a prison sentence? Boy, I LOVE pointing out the hypocrisy in people who walk around with their chests thrust out and their noses so high in the air that they breathe ozone and think they're so morally superior...NOT!!!

Of course animals should have rights, why should they be just for peoples benefit. Animals rule okay.

Animals have the right to be treated fairly and kindly. They are living creatures and have feelings and experience pain. As they can't speak up for themselves, then people have to do this on their behalf. This has to be done correctly, and not through some kind of terrorist activity.

Animals are better than Humans, they rely on us to keep them alive by feeding them, and caring for them! People who are cruel to animals deserve to be kept in cages and have things tested on them!!!!

Animals have as much right as anyone else, and NO i do not think that the sick people who use them to test products on are right to use them!!

I like meat. I love the taste, texture, the iron content, and the protein. I don't think animals should have rights, although I'm not for animal cruelty.
