Anyone else have a boy and girl? Do you feel girl stuff is cuter, and so you buy more clothes for the girl? Is it wrong to do that as far as fair goes. I mean you can buy the boy shoes or a toy when she gets a new shirt or outfit. Is that fair.

I am 22 weeks with a boy. There seems to be much cuter stuff for girls, and alot more of it. Also boys sale/clearance racks are horrible.
My kids are 21YO, 14 YO, and now I am 22 weeks pregnant. I guess I did not think about the "keeping them even thing" again.

I'm expecting a boy in June and started shopping around for boys' clothes. Since the season is getting ready to change, I was looking for sales or clearances, since as a newborn, he'll outgrow everything rather quickly. I was so disappointed at how little variety there is for boys! In all the department stores, the girls' clothes took up much more space and had better sales than the boys' clothes. And since there is more diversity within the girls' departments, I found that the girls' clothes tend to be cuter while the boys' clothes were all similar.
I don't think you should buy your daughter more clothes than your son. It isn't fair and you're teaching them that clothes are very important in life, which isn't true. Buy them what they need because they honestly don't really care as long as they're warm and comfortable.

I am a 12 year old girl almost 13 and if I had a brother that got more clothes and I would get a toy all the time then it wouldn't be fair, but if you buy the girl clothes you should buy the boy some clothes or if he is old enough just ask him. If he is not old enough just buy him a toy sometimes and clothes sometimes. Because boy's do like toys, I think they like them better than clothes, well at least my cousin does.

My daughter (2 yrs) has probably 3x as many clothes as my 2 boys (4 and 5 yrs) combined. Girls need options and my daughter likes to look pretty. as soon as a shirt gets a drop of milk on it, she wants a new one on. My boys coud care less. They would never change their socks or underware if i didnt force them to every day...and my 5 yr old would wear his X-MEN hoodie 24/7 if i let him.
My boys DO (right now anyway) have more shoes than my daghter. They each have like 3 pairs of gym shoes (They each have a pair of Jordan's, Fila's and k swiss to play in). My daughter has 1 pair of tennies (filas to match her brothers) and 1 pair of black dress shoes.
My boys have never cared and tell people all the time how pretty their sister is...they do hate going anywhere with her because i take so long making sure she is perfect

I can tell you my daughters closet has 2x more clothes than my sons. But my closet has 3x more clothes than my husbands. I think in some ways it is natural. Also boys clothes dont have to be outfits, I pair of jeans go w/ almost every shirt in his closet. While many girls pants go with one other shirt. I just try to make sure my little guy never feels left out, kwim?

I think there is equally cute boy and girl stuff. It just depends on the stores. Target has this super cute boy stuff...its so neat looking. I guess it just goes back to if you were a girly girl or more a tom boy. I wouldnt feel bad about it.
