next semester i have to take a noncredit math class. what happens if i fail it?

You need to take the class in order to take any higher level required class. Since the class is not credit it should not affect your GPA. However if you don't pass it could hurt your graduation time since it might hold you back from taking other classes you need. So work hard and make sure you pass it.

First of all, why are you taking it? What system are you in? I can't answer such a nonspecific question without knowing these specifics.

If it's a remedial class, then you might have to take it over again , or you might not be able to enroll in other higher level classes until you pass.
