How can I extend the range of the wireless signal from my laptop. I want to be able to pick up networks that are farther away. I saw a weird video where some nerdy guy wrapped ethernet cord around a cellphone and then plugged it into the computer and he picked up like 16 signals. Does that work???

You can buy a stronger card, or a antenna. But cellphone will not work.

Don't know; but since your not the nerdy type I would suggest you stick to the way it was made. For starters the cord would have to be a certain length based on a mathmatical formula or you will burn you internet card (maybe even your computer) out and it wont work at all.

You can get a PCI card that has a very large antenna periphreal.
