You can. If it happens by accident, or if the offspring do not turn out well, it's called inbreeding. If it happens "on purpose", and the offspring turn out nice, it's called linebreeding. If the father/daughter both possess oustanding traits, the traits will be even stronger in their offspring. However, any weaknesses will also be stronger. It's never a good idea to do this for more than one generation, after that the risk of birth defects and deformities is too great.
I don't breed any related animals because it can be risky and backfire, but there are some breeders who do it and have great success.

Sure. It really depends on the traits you are trying to pass on or get established. The problem comes with repeated matings over generations. But, if the desired trait is passed on via the father daughter cross then why not. Best thing to do is try to establish a complete genetic profile of both mates heritage.
People are not generally aware but people that raise show cats and dogs do this sort of thing all the time. People are also not aware that a lot of puppies and kittens are killed or abandon by the same breeders.

It is physically possible, but I wouldn't suggest it. Inbreeding can cause birth defects and other health issues. An offspring of first generation inbreeding usually won't show any problems, but there's always the risk. The likelihood of problems increases generation after generation.

Hi. Inbreeding is unpredictable but probably happens in nature often. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=boer+goats&gwp=13
