Both of these products can be dangerous and deadly to oneself and to others. So, why do we see beer commercials, but not commercials for cigarettes?

You can drink responsibly moderate amounts with very little or no damage to your body.
Smoking on the other hand is bad for you all together. You cant smoke responsibly.

Cigarette ads were banned in the early 70s after the surgeon general's warning came out.
You'll notice, however, that there aren't many whisky ads, either...

Just another example of the inconsistency and double standards (if they have any standards at all ) of our legislators.

becaue the alcohol lobbyists are more presuasive than the tobacco lobbyists.
