Well...
Will you EVER need to carry anything that won't fit on a motorcycle?
Can you handle being in any and all weather whenever you need to get somewhere?
Do people drive safely enough where you will be commuting/travelling that you will feel safe?
Are motorcycles within your price range readily available in your area?

If you answered no to any of those questions, you NEED a car. If you don't NEED a car, then a motorcycle is probably better.

Depends on your lifestyle and whether you believe motorcycles are more/less safe than cars. Most states don't make you carry insurance on a motorcycle,do you know why? It is because you will likely get injured in a motorcycle wreck then in a car wreck.

MOTORCYCLE -- Better on gas, generally cost less to buy and to fix, usually easier to find a parking space, fun factor

CAR -- Infinitely safer, much better transportation on cold/wet days, less noisy, creature comforts like A/C, stereo, cup holders (so you can drink coffee or whatever while you drive), you can sleep in it if you need to

This is totally subjective and for many reasons. I own both and for different reasons. My Alfa, I love to have a "chick" by my side and embrace the feeling together as we caress the road and each other The BMW is purely mine and I don't want to be disturbed listening to its' mechanics at different revs. This is the other lady!
