If you were wanting to help your mom out, then no, you wouldn't have a right to be mad. If you friends bailed on you on the last minute, yes I would be mad especially if they told you they would be there with you. You'll find out a lot as you get older; people don't always do what they say they're going to do. I've done it some times but I've had rights to, for example; if someone tells you how great something is just to get you to do something and it turns out they were wrong, that's the time to back out or if you have a strange feeling about something, that counts too.

You have every right to feel how you want to feel, but personally, don't be mad. Your friends told you that they were going to be there, but they decided not to. Continue to volunteer for your mom because she really appreciates your help. If the college kids ask you a question, answer it and before you know it, you won't be standing there by yourself. Talk to your friends if you want to about them bailing out on you. At least you know what kind of friends that you have. I hope my advice helps you. Good luck and continue to help your mom out.

Let's see, hang out at a place where there are college kids I can talk to and gain knowledge from or vegetate with my friends. Hmmmmm I'm sorry but when I was in the 9th grade I would have opted for the college, the people there are a tiny bit more intelligent than highschoolers...but then you ARE a highschooler aren't you?

Sure, you have the right to be mad, but what is it going to get you? Will your friend change her mind just because you are mad?

I wouldn't even think about them...what truly matters is that you are a great daughter/son for helping your Mother out.

Thumbs up for being there for her.....shes what really matters.

Best wishes....smile and realize what is really important.
