Old-school as in 80s/90s.

Why do you think so?

Personally I would pick Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for its sheer addictiveness, original story and fantastic sound and music.

Red alert. Mesmerizing. Spellbinding, Fantastic. Man I loved that game. So addictive that I could go 15 hours straight minus a few bathroom breaks. Oh the good ole days. Now I am lucky to have an hour or two for gaming a week. Getting old, married, and having kids has a way of doing that to you.

It was a game from Monolith called "Blood"
It was essentially a first person shooter like "Doom" but it was extremely creepy and fun.

Full Throttle. It's a puzzle/adventure game from Lucas Arts, and it's one of my favorites of all time.
