If it is business mail, or mailed to the place of business, it is the property of all 4 business owners.

first of all, all personal mails must be addressed to your husband's personal address and not at the family business address.

put it like this, lets say there is a letter addressed to the family business with the name of one of the siblings.and that certain person went on a holiday to Bali and wont be back till next month and theres certainly no signal for his cellphone over in Bali.the letter might be personal, but at the same time it might be about a business deal that will expire soon if not responded to immediately.there's a 50-50 chance on either one.what would you do?well...if it was me and i'm one of the owner/shareholder, i have every right to open the mail.infact i have 25% right to it.and if the other 2 consent to this, we 3 have 75% right to open the mail.and that far outweighs just 1 person.

i'm not saying it is right.but at the same time,i'm not saying its entirely wrong.if it was a personal mail...then he aught to give a different address should he?

If it has the business name on it and no one persons name, then yes he can open it.

If the Business name is on it and there is an" Att to****" or "care of" or anything along those line, it is a federal offense to open someone else mail.

Good Luck

NO, it's a federal offense! I'd confront the individual at once.
