How do I find out if my invention has already, or in the process of, been patented?

You need to do a patent search. Your local library may be able to help you do this or you can contact a law firm that specializes in patent law.

Go to get it patented yourself and then they will tell you if there is a duplicate/similar item. Don't consult invention corporations, they steal ideas.
