I've purchased a dress and planned to have my shoes and purse dyed to match. The resulting dress turned out to be dusty rose woven with antique gold-colored threads. This is for a semi-formal, daytime event; what color should I have my shoes and purse dyed, in order not to clash, or be too bright for daytime?

I wouldn't dye the shes and purse to match. You run the risk of it actually not coming out the right shade and looking worse. Having your shoes and purse match with you outfit exactly is really hoax-y looking anymore. It's more acceptable not to match up, as long as your options compliment the dress. If your dress has an accent of antique gold in it, try to find shoes in the gold spectrum (plus metallics are really hot right now) same thing with your purse. If you plan to match your shoes and purse, try to keep them close to the same shade as possible. I suggest a muted paler antique gold as opposed to a bright brassy gold (think cheap doorknobs). Well I hope this helps you dome, good luck! Have fun!!

I hope you are white, cause if you are dark you are choosing wrong colors for your dress...
If you can, dye shoes and purse dusty rose. You can wear this color any time.
Matching will never be out of style, specially for formal and semi-formal occasions; it shows that the person knows about style...And you must know that the less you match, the fatter you look...has any designer told you that? They need skeletons to convince you other way...

Black would be best for daytime. You could use gold at night. Matching bags and shoes are out of style now.

gold shoes are in style perferably stelettos are in, but if the weather isn't agreable go for a 2 inch max heel opened or close depending on your tollereance for weather condtions.

No one ever thinks about the weather when picking out there shoes for events, remember to check for hourly weather as well.
