For a college English class, I need to write a paper either on Finance and/or on Food. I would however like to combine these two areas (finance and food) and write my paper on this combined topic. I would love recommendations or ideas for my paper, a topic that combines finance and food. If not, just a really good food topic. I have to present my paper after I'm done with it, so a really interesting/fun topic would be really helpful! Thanks!

Do a paper on the commodities trade of Coffee. Sounds boring but start doing some research into the history and you will see the vast amount of information available on the topic.
Doesn't have to be coffee, but that is the most interesting as it spans into many 3rd world countries, meaning there's a lot of blood shed over coffee.

watch food network or how its made on the dsc channell....they always have interesting stuff on there like how marshmallows are made or mass candy bar production...then research the company and its stock (for instance m&m/mars) and show the
economics of the product.....also youd be very surprised at the interesting facts you will find out....like did you know that campbells soup is not precooked?....it is placed in the can and then cooked and that the hand held can opener was not invented until about 50 years after the invention of the can!....now theres some neat-o stuff!

Although it may be hard to research, if you could come up with the data, I think the historical economic impact of fast food would be a tremendous topic.
The facets of this are limitless. They stretch from investment in new restaurants, to the health costs of obesity.
