I use it on all my sites I develop, even if I only need to use one or two features of it. It just makes site management easier in many ways. The link above explanis a lot of it.

As for being able to learn easily.. to be honest, it's just like anything else. Just pick up a book and read, read and read some more. It's much easier than others, but it's not going to be extremely easy as it has so many variables and options that it just can't be learned over night.
