I never dyed my hair either and then one winter I went to the Caribbean for a week. I came back and my hair was all streaky from the sun and salt. It looked a mess. I went out and bought dye to dye it back to my natural color. It wasn't any issue. I dried my hair out slightly, but it was all normal again in no time. Another time I just wanted a little umph because my hair was kinda flat looking - winter slump - so I went and got low-lights. This is when you get darker highlights instead of blond highlights. It was kinda fun and not so "OMG what did you do to your hair!" it didn't change the texture of my hair very much and was back to it's normal color in a few months.
Highlights use bleaching agents and really dry out your hair so that it feels like straw.
Perms are fun for a change. They will lighten your hair because of the chemicals and also make your hair less shiny. Use lots of conditioner.
I think you should do what your want. New hair will grow in and it will all be back to normal after a while. Have some fun!

I've never had my hair dyed before, what's it like? So, I'm 15 and I want a new hairstyle but I've never had my hair dyed before. Should I? My hair is really thin, Will it damage my hair?

Honestly, I think that you've never truly lived until you've experimented with your appereance...its all not permanent anyways, so why not try a new look? I never did anything to my hair until I was about 22 or 23 years old, and now Im back to my natural hair...everyone loved the highlights on me, its just a change, something a little different...I would go for it...
your hair is the healtiest its ever been since you've never colored it, and sometimes coloring your hair or highlighting, CONTINOUSLY can damage your hair...but doing it once or twice wont damange your hair.... especially if you end up growing it back out again, your back to your natural look...
what do you have to lose? if you dont like it, you can change it right there on the spot...
Good luck! :)

I have dyed my hair for close to 10 years and it is HARD to keep it from being crispy at the ends. If you do decide to dye your hair, go on line and choose a shade that you feel is best suited for you, and get it done PROFESSIONALLY, if only once the first time at least. And if you do dye it, give it a few days, because the change sometimes shocks us, and we don't like what is actually beautiful!

depends on your opinion on what you want ot do to yuor hair but also consider what people tell you.
if your'e black with naturally straight hair you should get a soft color to match yuor skin tone (don't bleach it).
If your white with naturally staright hair get a collor also that will match yuor complexion and not to vibrant
if yuo have hard hair or naturally wavy (latino) or really black hair (crinkled) go for something that will look good with any style. Formal or at the beach

You can dye your hair with a semi-perminant dye. That way you'll get to see what your hair is like in another color, with minimum damage. The dye comes out in about 25 showers.

Feel someone's dyed hair before you do it. It never feels the same no matter how much you condition it. And decide that you are going to keep up with it once you start.
All the people who go lighter than their natural color and have dark roots are just tacky. We call it "blackie by crackie" and it's just low class.

dont dye it. so many women ruin their hair by dying it. ive had virgin hair my whole life, and when im 30 im still going to have virgin hair, compared to all the other "blondes" out there, im a natural brunette! and plus... i dont need to change anything about myself to make me feel or look better. im cool the way i am.
