Don't worry about it. My periods were/are very irregular; only 6-8 a year. I got pregnant as soon as we started trying in just 6 weeks. Just becuase you are not menstrating as often does not necessarily mean you are not ovulating regularly. You have nothing to worry about.

Hi ya, im terrible with my periods as well. Im quite irregular, but mine normally last between 29 to 41 day cycles!

I went to the doctor about this as all of my family tend to get pregg just thinking about it! Ive been trying for 5 months.

I had tests done to find out if i had any hormonal probs and was fine. And she just said that theres not much they can do with peps with irregular periods!

So I went to 'boots' to find that there are ovulation tests that range from about £20, and they tell you when you are best fertile.

This is the worst thing when trying to conceive and in a way its nice to know theres people out there with the same prob.

I would suggest go and see your doctor to find out why you have irregular periods. Then go from there. In the mean time you could go and buy a ovulation kit.

Best of luck, and your not alone

x

I am the same age and my hubby and I have been ttc for about 7 or 8 months now and I have very irregular periods, one every 3 to 4 months. After being off the pill for 6 months my gyno sent me to have some labs done and found out that my progestrone level was 5, it has to be much higher to sustatin pregancy and implantation, she put me on Prometrium and said she "would be very surprised if I didnt conceive 2 or 3 months after starting this",
The prometrium pills helps regulate menstration, I had my first normal cycle the very first month of being on this and just started my 2nd round(you take the pill on days14-28 of cycle,.....depending on your situation) and my period was not crampy or too heavy...even if it just regulates my cycle and I dont get pregnant right away I love this stuff! Good luck...your gyno will prolly recommend about 6 months of tryin before they test anything, my sugestion is to find a proactive midwife or gyno who will work with you starting with the less imvasive stuff sooner rather than later when you are really frusterated! Good luck

I highly recommend "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler, it will tell you exactly how to tell if you are ovulating or not. A lot of women who have irregular cycles are simply ovulating irregularly, which makes it hard to tell when exactly if you're trying to go by the mysterious day 14. As long as you're ovulating you can get pregnant, so don't worry too much yet. First track your Basal Body Tempurature (simply google this if you want more info) and see if you are. I didn't ovulate for 6 months and had not period during that time, then I ovulated again, and I knew this because I knew exactly how to read the signs of ovulation. Good luck!

I had irregular periods and had to take birth control pills for 3 months to regulate them. After I stopped taking the pill I was pregnant within 1 month

Hi, I am 27 and have had the same problem in the past. Talk to your doctor about putting you on medication called provera. It is not a birth control pill but it will regulate you so you'll be able to conceive. Your periods will be like clockwork if taken correctly.
I now have 2 sons.....it works!

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

You probably need to get your periods under control first (regulate them) and you might turn out very successful in trying to conceive. Good Luck hope every thing goes well for you!

When you can't get pregnant, and things look good from the outside, it can be extremely frustrating.
The first thing to consider is how long have you been trying. About 80% of couples will get pregnant after six months of trying, and about 90% will be pregnant after 12 months of trying to get pregnant. Anyway this is a great methid to get pregnant fast https://tr.im/51901

i'd go to your gyno and make sure there's nothing wrong at first. you shouldn't have any problems getting prenant though. sometimes if you're too irregular they can put you on drugs, like clomid, to help you ovulate. have you tracked your ovulation? try something like feritilityfriend.com. it can keep up with it for you and let you know when the best times to try are. good luck!
