Did you know that when squirrels are chasing each other, it's not male chasing female for a mate. It's male chasing male. The male squirrels try to bite the other male's genitals off so they aren't competition for the females. True fact. Squirrel females are generally easy and don't need to be chased. Kind of like American women.
So why do it .???....if the females are gonna be easy anyway???

Wow !! I'll remember this question for a long time. My head is spinning. Got a large live oak tree in my back yard and the squirrels are running circles around this tree and your question is ????? Why indeed.
Your question only upsets me because it is so true. Morals are shot all over this world. Male & female alike have made it so.~Jill

Being a hamster, and an American, I feel that I am qualified to answer this.

Oh man. So many things wrong with this question.

Only the part about the rodent was true.

The part that will upset some people is not the true part.

1) humans are not squirrels
2) men are competitive for the affections of females, in all countries.
3) You know you love us.

That female squirrel just saw what Mr. Rodent did to that other guy, of course she isn't going to put up much of a fight.

Well the squirrels might do that in the US.

But generally the female squirrels in the UK lead the males a right song and dance before they consent.

i'm pressuming they do it to stop other male squirrels impregnating the female squirrels - if some other squirrel gets there first then it can't be impregnated again. it also ensures that the qualities needed to be a good squirrel (eating nuts) is passed on to future squirrel generations x

Cause the male of the species has a brain and sex organs but just not enough blood to run both at the same time. Thought was common knowledge ;-)

Its a terratorial thing, the squirrels want a section of the forest for themselves and the females in there to be his. It gets a bit nasty when you have your gonads munched by a nephew or grandson though...

to increase the chances of their genetics, its the same with all animals (male lions will kill the cubs of defeated rivals)
as far as grey squirrels go i prefer them fried with garlic butter

To ensure that the offspring is your's not someone else's.

You need to pass on your genes but the female is doing it with everyone... so think about it yourself....
