Musicians friend has a new set of Pulse drums for $199.00.
Here's a link:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pulse-5Piece-22101214-Drum-Set-with-Hardware?sku=445758

Keep in mind that doesn't include cymbals!!!! You have to buy them separate

For a better quality drum, you'll have to try pawn shops and music stores to find used ones! This set is just a beginners!

You can't get a descent student set for $200. For that much you only get the stuff they sell at walmart.

For solid drum advice, go here:

Good luck, and Happy Birthday!

Check craigslist.org. $200 won't get you much beyond used but have a look anyway. Make sure you search in NYC.
