Sweetie don't rush for this to happen. Trust me it doesn't make you a little girl just because you haven't gotten yours yet. Be happy that you don't have it yet because having a period every month doesn't feel good at all. There's a lot of cramping and bleeding, and our moods change too. It will be coming soon enough. Just enjoy not having one right now. You'll understand what I'm saying years down the road when you get tired of having one. By the way having a period doesn't make people give you respect. The older you get your family will start to respect you in different ways because you will be growing into a young woman.

oh babe, i really wanted mine, but its seriously no picnic. its horrible. i completely know how you feel, but just remember that every woman/girls body is different, they develop at different rates and there isnt a time limit for when you should start your period. (however if you dont have it by the time ure19 u should c ure dr) plz dont worry about it.
i started in yr10, and i absolutly hate it, its soooo uncomfortable and you feel so awkward all the time.People grow differently too, my boobs havent really developed (34AA!! boo hoo, and im 17!!!!!!) if your worried about not having boobs, get a padded or gel bra, thats what i do, and it looks much better if thats why you are slightly worried.
not having your period doesnt mean your a little girl, plz dont worry, everything will come in due time, i feel for you cos i know exactly how you feel.
i hope this helps u, good luck and dont worry, just be thankful for now you dont have to spend more money on something thats such as pain. lots of love lucy xx

Nothing weird about wanting respect. Getting your period has nothing to do with it though, unless your family is very strange and it's like a right of passage or something. Geez! Anyway, the best thing to do is just to not act really immature and childish. No drama. Adults hate dealing with little drama queens. Remember that, and you'll gain their respect sooner rather than later.
And once you do get your period, you'll wish you hadn't wanted it so badly. They don't call it the woman's curse for nothing!

I know this seems harsh, but getting your period isn't going to change anyone's perspective that you're still the youngest. No matter how much you grow up, everyone else is always going to be older than you, until your older brothers/sisters get married and start having their own children.
The good news is that once you get to be an adult and everyone's older than you, people will be really jealous that you're so much younger and more fun than they are.
Your period will be here before you know it, and then you'll be wondering why you were in such a hurry for it to get here.

Honestly, having your period sucks. It won't make you get respect. It's disgusting and you have to deal with it every month. The longer the better. Just tell your family you want respect and you are mature and they need to realize it. Try acting like an adult or dressing more appropriate for your age.

How old are you anyway?
And trust me you WILL most proberbly regret even wanting to start once you do! lol
They are pretty awful and they get in the way of a lot of things, like if you like going swimming at your age you cant go to things like that. And no you arent weird because lots of girls are rushing to start too. They can make you moody and all sorts and can even sometimes smell!!!!LOL! x

Oh hon... i would say that a month after you get it you will totally regret those words
If you are concerned you should go to a doctor, but in no way think that you are "still a child" just because you haven't gotten your period yet.
Good luck

I was the same as you when I was younger. I couldnt wait for my periods to start, but when they did and the novelty of being 'grown up' had worn off I got fed up of them pretty quickly. They are a right pain in the ar5e!

Pray you don't have painful periods or you would wish you didn't have them. An incidentally that does not give you respect its the way you behave as a person that gives you respect or how mature and responsible you act.

Hiya, Please dont be in a hurry to grow up. Periods come soon enough, and then as you know they come every month for years and years, and there will be times when you wish they didn't happen, so take everything as it comes you will grow up and your body will change. Enjoy being young.
