poor circulation

Could be the position you are sleeping. Do you have your arms under you, or your hands? If it happens all of the time, no matter where you are sleeping, then this may be one reason. If it only happens when you sleep in your own bed, it may be you need a new mattress. As the commercials say-pressure points. If your mattress isn't supporting you properly it could be that the pressure points that are being affected are cutting off or pinching the nerve.

hello!
one of the main reasons for hands "falling a sleep" during the time we sleep is actually due to our anatomy:
in our elbows we have this nerve which is called the ulnar nerve, and it runs very close to our skin. a bit of pressure there for a long period (like when we are asleep) may cause numbness of the hand. when we wake up (some times even due to pain that this pressure cause) shaking that hand usually helps...
hope I helped!

Happens to me more often then not. I think it's due to poor circulation and the position you are sleeping in. Do you find that when your arm is asleep that you are adding pressure to a certain area on your arm that stops the blood flow???

sometimes, it's so bad I get really scared.

Have to agree with Rodmanbig it sounds like carpel tunnel syndrome. I have the same problem and had been told begining of carpel tunnel. I also have 4 discs in my cervical spine that need work. Arthritis, bone spurs, spinal stenosis, bulging discs. My arms get tingling and numbness too. If it's just your hands it sounds like carple tunnel - do you use your hands alot for computer work, a lot of lifting, or piece work? Might be a good idea to see your doctor instead of guessing so you know for sure. Take care of yourself! kmj

because you are laying on your hand or arm wrong and causing the nerves to be pinched. there are natural ways to hold your hands and if you put your hands in the unnatural position for a while it will cause the sleeping feeling in your hand. You may also have carpul tunnel or something like this if it has been going on for a while. I would suggest speaking to your doctor to see if something else it going on or if you have other symtpoms.

could be if you lay on them while your sleeping. Mine fall asleep even during the day sometimes and I get pains in them but thats because I have carpal tunnel. I think they just do that because you lay on them when u sleep. and not much circulation gets to them when you lay down either

Sometimes when you sleep you bend your arm or hand the wrong way or you put pressure on it and it cuts off the blood circulation. It's perfectly normal though and happens to everyone.

It could be from your birth control if you take any. If you do, you should tell your Dr right away. It's not a good thing!
