I can't stand Dick Vitale period; if he were hoarse and couldn't speak I'd have a hard time with him. He is such a rah-rah, cliche-ridden mouthpiece that you have to wonder if he's even watching the game he's broadcasting or if he's just looking for someplace to stick his voice and cliches in.
One problem with Dickie V (and a much bigger problem with Billy Packer, for that matter) is that they only show up for "big" teams. You think either one would be caught dead at a BracketBuster game, for example? For Packer if Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Florida (this year, anyway), or, to a lesser extent, an ACC or Big East team isn't in the game, Packer isn't at the game.
Now that I think of it, I'll take Dickie V if they'll just pension off Billy Packer.

Seriously I don't think anybody likes Vitale's voice but if you are a college player you will LEARN to LOVE it because he is one of the biggest keys to getting into the NBA.... The more he says your name and shouts out his Diaper dandys the more your stock goes up... But yeah personally I don't like his voice but I do respect it...

Maybe if he used his real voice every once in a while it would be OK.
