I am, SO MAD now I could spit nails!

I just had a cable man at my house to install cable TV. We had not had cable for the past 15 because we were never home while our kids were in sports and activities.

We have a finished Rec Room in our basement and he WOULD NOT DRILL through the ceiling to run cable to our 52 in. TV with VERY LITTLE RECEPTION downstairs. Seems MANY people have SUED them over that issue when they didn't like how it looked after it was done. HEY PEOPLE - it's coming through a ceiling and you will see wires - get over it!

Should people be able to sue over nonsense or should the Government do something to stop this?

You have to remember, we have a "no responsibility for my own actions" mentality in this country.

I spill hot coffee in my lap? SUE THE RESTAURANT!

I have sex and get AIDS? I DEMAND the government find a cure

I have sex and get pregnant? KILL THE BABY!

Yes! I was hoping for some major tort reform with the election of President Bush but then came 9/11, etc. Since the Democrats are strong because of the massive number of attorneys in this country,it will be in the biggest Congressional fight of those lawyers' lives when it finally goes before Congress.
Tort reform can only be done with a strong Republican president and Congressional majority without a major war going on that sucks the time and money out of the administration's life.

I know--I know--I take care of a Alzheimer stage 7 and this morning she left me a little surprise. What a mess ! I do not want to involve the government but could I sue because she is on medicare ? Why couldn't they have had someone here this morning to check her. I mean I don't mind feeding, exercising, bathing, dressing and all that but why should I have to clean that up. This is nonsense.

I'm guessing John Edwards won't be getting your vote anytime soon.

I'd hire a different contractor to wire the cable into your wall.

I'm in construction now for 28 years, and I've about seen it all. PEOPLE want something for nothing and especially when your in their territory, meaning their house. I've dealt with scams by supposbly upstanding citizens in the community, involveing them actually putting their 2 year lod baby to follow me around while I painted. Eventually when I turned my back, you guessed it, paint on the carpet that had been stained by the movers but they wanted me to replace it because they couldn't get the paint out. There is more details to this FOOL trying to sue me, but the fact he used his baby, that could have been injured, was evidence of his desperation to get something for nothing. I told him I would stomp a mud hole in his --- if I heard another word and he droped it.

I guess it would depend on what the cable company promised those previous customers. It could be that they didn't do a very good job at managing customer expectations.

That's accountability for you. Protect people who kill or seriously injure people by cutting corners to make a profit.
We already have a system in place to stop frivolous lawsuits. It's called the Judicial System.

I'm glad you mentioned that your husband can drill the holes. A lot of us so called Liberals have learned to do that kind of work.

It's a little thing. However, I find myself agreeing with you for once. This country is out of control when it comes to law suits.

However, in regard to your comment of the non-binding resolution, I am willing to bet that when Congress wasted time debating on a flag burning ammendment, that you didn't have a problem with that.

Do you think government officials are ONLY working on ONE issue? I work for lobbyists and we are innundated with bills the House and Senate are working on, at least at the state level. This state has been working hard on tort reform. In fact, we have a guest speaker here today at our office to talk about tort reform.

NO

The congress should be Congressional. Nothing more nothing less.

Strange how the Reds always work changing the constitution into their daily life.
