Prayers need not be complicated. I'd go with "God, please make (child's name) well."

How would I pray? I hope I would never have to pray for something like that, but.........
Dear loving and merciful Father, you know what is in my heart right now and that I wish for my child to be healed if at all possible.
If that is not your will at this time, then please give us strength and patience with each other, with the doctors and nurses, and especially with you.
Be with us now more than ever, to help make our time together as happy and comfortable as possible. I know You know what is best, even if I forget that sometimes because I am hurting and sad.
Thank you for blessing me with this beautiful child that I love, with good family and with your love to help support us through this scary and lost time when we need you so much.
AMEN.

Just start talking. God doesn't care how the words come out. It's the feeling behind it. I'll pray for whoever it is too.

Praying is not difficult if you truly in need and ask truthfully and honestly your prayers will be answered no right or wrong way to pray

Think about it...
First question...What's God's will?
Second...Wouldn't "God's will" happen no matter if you pray or not?
Wouldn't that build a false hope?
