Oh, ma' dear...I'm more than a bit worried for you here.
It could be a variety of things but pain in the lungs is a sign of some sort of inflammation or fluid build up from a bad cold or pneumonia.
If it's spread to your back and you're having trouble breathing...it's time to see a doctor.
Now I'll be checking on you with many others in here that care for you...no doubt about it.
Peace.

age?
sex?
duration of smoking?
location of pain on front of chest
how many times have you had the pain till now?
how many days have you had the pain happening for?
how long did it last for?
what were you doing when the pain started?
Could you walk a mile last week?
-------

i will let you add all those details, but in the mean time, if it is a central chest TIGHTNESS mainly happening when you do something, with or without some arm tightness or pain, GO TO THE DOCTOR STRAIGHT AWAY...COULD be from the heart.....

if it happens at rest and lasts for hours at a time without any change, less likely to be your heart......make an appointment with your general practitioner/family physician......

Cheers....
Stop smoking...if you dont, cancel your pension contributions please...no point

To protect and to smoke!

Chest pains can be for many different reasons, you should see your doctor, have them take some X Rays to make sure everything is OK. Good luck!

I could suggest several reasons but as I'm not a Medical Doctor I suggest you visit your Doctor asap.
Yeah, you know the bit about giving up smoking!

Are you sure it is just when you breathe? Do you know if you have heart problems? I think you should see a doctor because it could be a very serious problem.

Heart Problems; be careful with your health ( exercise, eat health and try to cut down on smoking)???

It could also be Asthma depend on the situation of your health (how long you were smoking) and what you were doing???

Just go and get a check-up (go to your physician or to a clinic)??

you may have something coming on...some type of chest cold, maybe.
Or pleurisy...it's an inflammation of the lining of your lungs...it goes away on its own, but it's uncomfortable for a few days. It hurt especially when you take a deep breath..

Do you have a hack-y cough? Might be pleurisy, which needs antibiotics. (inflammation of the lining of the lungs against the chest cavity wall..)

It means that you should get off of Y/A and go see a doctor. (Surveys and Opinions is not exactly the most accurate place for medical advice...)
