I am not sure about your specific health department although the health department by my home in Denver, CO you can obtain the shot or any other contraceptive without having a parent or legal guardian with you. BE AWARE you must fill out emergency contact paperwork that you will need to put your parents info on but they do not contact them unless something went VERY wrong... like an allergic reaction or something else but it is very rare that it would happen... BE CAREFUL on the shot as I gained like 30 lbs, was extremely emotional and had a period for 7 weeks even after 2 years of being on it... You may look into ortho-tri cyclin low. It is a GREAT pill!

BY the way... if you are a student, the health department by me is free to students and is based on a sliding scale if you are not in school...

Hope that helped and make sure you get on something!!!

Call your local health department and ask what the requirements are in order for you to obtain the BC Injection.

As a mother myself, I would want to know if my daughter was on birth control. Still, I believe you can go to Planned Parenthood and get birth control without parental knowledge.

Prob. depends on what state you are in. Check with your local health dept. and ask your question. Usually you don't have to have a parent, but again I am not familiar with each state req. Good Luck
