No salary cap. No contract restrictions. Just your favorite starting 5. Fill all 5 positions. Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and Point Guard. Also think of team chemistry and how one player would play to the strengths of the others.

My starting 5 would be:
PG- Steve Nash
SG- RIP Hamilton
SF- Kevin Garnett
PF- Tim Duncan
C - Amare Stoudamire

PG - Steve Nash
SG - Paul Pierce
SF - Kevin Garnett
PF - Dirk Nowitzki
C - Yao Ming

Here you have:
Two excellant ball handlers (Nash, Garnett)
Two slashers (Nash, Pierce)
Three outside shooters (Nash, Pierce, Nowitzki)
Three Inside players (Garnett, Nowitzki, Ming)
Tons of rebounding and shot blocking for no second chance points and allowing nothing but outside shots. You also get stellar defence from all but Nash. But hey, anyone who gets by him has to deal with Garnett, Nowitzki, and Ming.

Phoenix starting line-up. Why change an already ridiculous team, and they have more chemistry then any fantasy starting line -up could ever have.

Steve Nash
Raja Bell
Shawn Marion
Boris Diaw
Amare Stoudemire

Steve Nash best passer (player?) in the game. Raja Bell can hit the 3's but his defence is the part of his game Phoenix needs. The Matrix can do it all. He can grab the offensive boards, he can dunk with the best of them, he can shoot the 3. Boris Diaw is one of the best, if not THE best, big man passer in the NBA today. He sees the court, he's got quicks and handles and he's the perfect team player. Last but certainly not least, my man Stoudemire. COmes back from microfracture surgery and... what, leads the team in scoring with 19.9... putting up a career high in rebounding, 9.5rpg. And he's still young, he'll be an allstar for years to come.
Don't be surprised if this starting line-up pulls out as NBA Champions.

PG - Steve Nash
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Lebron James
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Dirk Nowitski

HM - Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan

My team would pretty much beat any comibination of other NBA players, and the statistics prove it. I didn't even consider injured players like Wade, Yao and Boozer.

By the way, how can you guys NOT have the best player in the NBA on your list, Kobe Bryant?

center - Ben Wallace SG - Dwyane Wade PF - Tim Duncan SF - Shawn Marion PG - Steve Nash My priorities have been championship adventure (had to play below stress), shielding means, unselfishness and severe basketball IQ. Kobe, on a similar time as a large participant, is a diva and too selfish for solid group chemistry. LeBron would not play adequate protection, even nonetheless he ought to probable study speedy enjoying in this group. Kevin G. would not have chamionship pedigree. Dirk N. has a historic previous of choking. Shawn M. defends extra ideal than Amare S.

after watching the all star game i would have to say that the west coast starting lineup looked pretty damn good. they had some serious matchup issues b/c of their height... going with that here are my 5

PG NASH
SG KOBE
SF KG
PF AMARE
C YAO

you have a front line that averages about 7', you have the best all around player on kobe, and you have 2 time mvp in nash.

KG is hands down better than lebron... lebron is good.. but has a LOT of media hype behind his current status.. looking at stats, defense, (he has offense.. sort of.. jumper needs work) and how clutch he is.. he has much to improve.. now im not a lebron hater, im just saying he is young and anything is possible.. but right now KG is better.

amare is the man period. as each game passes, he is coming around to his form of 2 years ago... and now he has a $$ jumper. also, in the truest sense, amare is not a center.

yao.. what can i say.. as of now.. he is the best center in the league.. he can shoot, play the post AND he can hit +80% from the charity stripe..

all in all, i went with these guys b/c they have offense, FT% (very important), defense, and are (relatively) veterans

I don't know if the positions are right or not but:

Paul Pierce
Gilbert Arenas
Steve Nash
Shaq
Vitaly Potopanko oh yeah

i would put Vitaly over Yao any day because he hasn't impressed me much since coming in the NBA, and he doesn't try like when Nate Robinson stuffed him that SHOULD NOT OF HAPPENED
