Hi All! My 9 yr old son has an invention project for school. He wants to make a "machine" that will do your homework for you, do your chores (feed the dog, set the table, etc.), and he wants to be able to play his PSP (Playstation Portable) on it.

Some ideas he has come up with so far include: a box, some silver spray paint, some knobs, and his extra PSP cover attached somehow.

Can anyone think of any other ideas on how to make this? He's not real happy with what he has so far, but neither him nor I possess any creativity whatsoever. Any ideas/help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You can put the robot on an RC car so it can move around...if it is not too big.

Try putting a 9 volt battery in it and put some lights on the outside...

Put two slinkies as arms. Put work gloves on the ends of the slinkies

Try multiple boxes....a large one for the body, small one for the head.

get creative with paint. For example, the box can be solid silver...but put a yellow lightning bolt on the chest (or something similar)

The box and knobs are a good start. Next six or eight add "legs" both top and bottom. If you have extra gloves or can get some $ store gloves, ad one to each of the legs. This way it can walk and clean up while it's doing homework, etc.

Next, get a square of Plexiglas to represent a monitor and add a keyboard if you have one. For a print-out, just add a slot in the box with the the label "Hard Copy Output"

Add some random lights and buttons with labels for additional functions, etc.

Hope this helped and good luck.
