The JET program is a good way if you have a college degree. They really take care of you, and teaching English is not a hard way to make a living. During your JET stay, you can make all sorts of contacts and find a new job, if that's what you want. Many people go back home, get a grad degree, and then come back to Japan to teach at universities.
