Well if it doesn't play games you don't have much of a choice, try and get it repaired if not you'll have to go for a new one. And if you're going for a new psp please don't hesitate to spend some money on screen protectors and stuff like that. Because if you don't, your psp WILL get scratched.

Check out www.psp411.com to have a look at such products which can protect your psp and there are also a few tips they give on removing scratches. I tried one of their methods and I ended up doing more harm to my psp so try it at your own risk.

Obviously if it doesnt play games (which is what it was most likely bought for) you should trade it in. How long have u had it? Look for the receipt, you could exchange it for a new one for no cost at all in that case.

If it doesnt work, trade it in
