Im 15 years old and ive been getting my period for about three years now. At first, my periods were light and didnt cause me any pain, but now, withen the past year my periods have become very heavy and are accompanied by SEVERE cramps and i also get lower backaches and sometimes i get hotflashes. Today it got so bad that i actually had to check out of school : / today was a little different, along with the hotflashes i also had chills (i know this sounds odd) and im very worn out. im wondering if its just regular old period pain or if it could be something more serious? please dont mention the whole "try birth control" thing because im making an appt with my doctor about that, just give me your opinion on what you think it might be, period pain or something more serious? thanks!

Your period changes with your body your doctor will probably tell you that. I know it stinks but some of us have it worse than others try midol or pamprin for the serious pain but try taking it right when you start to feel crampy before it gets real bad. I doubt theres anything more serious then getting stuck with a crappy period hun. Good Luck.

i think it could be either. i'm 14, and when i was almost 12 i got my first period. it's sorta the same for me. for the first 2 years mine was really heavy and lasted for like 8 days, but no cramps. now it's lighter, last for 4-5 days and i get bad cramps. it is normal for ur period to change after a few years. but if ur cramps are really that bad than it's probably sumthin else.

well you might have to go to the docter if if continues to be very painful and stuff. but its kind of normal with girls at these age.
