I think it screams "insecurity". Not for those who have a genuine passion for say acting, film making or music, but for those who just pursue fame for fame sake. For example the Paris Hilton's, Jodi Marsh's of this world, the big brother contestants, the "i slept with someone famous and now I'm going to sell the story to the tabloids". Why they need attention from strangers who they dont care about is beyond me. Of course its to massage there ego make them feel Superior or special. I feel its just sad and they need a quack doc more than a headline.
