the best weed killer is 2-4-D. The commercial brand is called Weed-B-Gone. It only kills broad leaf weeds. If the weed is in the grass family, you will need to buy a grass herbicide.

No, but it might kill bugs that are on the weeds. You could check with a nursery if you're looking for an environmentally safe weed killer.
