the facts of life had characters named Blair and Jo, but it was set at a girls school called Eastland, not a department store.. there was an episode where Jo, Natalie, and Tootie shoplifted a blouse at a store where Blair did a lot of shopping, perhaps thats what you are thinking of.. Blair was rich girl, didnt work at a department store.
facts was a spin off of Diff'rent Strokes, Kimberly Dummond was a student at Eastland, and housekeeper Mrs Garrett moved to Kimberlys school to help out and stayed there, later becoming the school dietician
