First you should definitely make sure the modem is plugged in correctly. The modem plugs into the wall and the computer plugs into the modem.

What does the PC advise when you are trying to connect? Any error messages to report?

You have to have a active phone live for your dsl to be connected and filters so you will have access to your phone and internet simultaneously. Your dsl filter has to be plugged in to your phone jack, with a filter coming out of that phone jack, plug your gray cable into the dsl side and the phone line into the phone side od the filter. Filters have to be put everywhere you have a phone.

inspite of the fact that that could be a discomfort, i could desire to head the workstation back to the unique room and notice if the situation is going away. If particular, you have a wiring situation interior the modular connector interior the recent room. If the situation remains there, with the workstation put in back interior the unique room and with the modular cords removed from the wall on each and every telephone interior the living house, then you somewhat the two have a modem/router/workstation/cabling situation or that is something out on the line.

Umm....are you serious. Your modem is not physically connected to the wall...and you want to know if that is your problem. If your serious about that question then you are not ready for the internet.
